Workshops for writers

For science & technical writers

Communicating science

Effective communication with stakeholders and the general public has become a key factor in gaining and sustaining support for projects and programmes in every sector of development, public and private. Scientists, technical experts and development managers sometimes have difficulty adapting their writing style for communicating with non-technical audiences. This workshop examines the rhetorical features of a variety of genres and media for communicating science and technology and provides practical guidance for preparing content for print media, radio, television, multimedia, exhibitions and other popular formats. Practice exercises are based on current needs within the organization.
