Available workshops
Some publications can be produced more efficiently and effectively using the “writeshop” approach. A writeshop is a working group established to ensure a particular publication is produced on time, under budget and according to the specified needs of the stakeholders.
Writeshop Synopsis
The content and structure of a writeshop varies according to the needs of the organization and the task at hand, but all writeshops have a similar underlying format:
- Everyone with a stake in the publication meets for one or more short, focused planning sessions. The outcomes of the planning sessions are:
- an agreed table of contents and style guidelines for the publication
- an agreed process for compiling content and composing text
- an agreed mechanism for revising and approving the final draft
- A plan for publication, distribution and evaluation (including a budget)
- Documentation of the writeshop with Action Points
Duration: varies according to the task
Audience: Development agencies and NGOs, government, university and private sector research institutions aiming to produce a funding proposal, report or publication within a limited period of time.
